Goldberg v Lesnar comes to dramatic conclusion at Survivor Series!
It was billed as a titanic clash between two iconic superstars.
It was a match that was 12 years in the making and saw one of wrestling’s most revered stars of the ’90s make his long-awaited return to the squared circle.
Riding a tremendous fanfare, Goldberg came back to WWE programming to face-off with the most dominant man in sports entertainment, Brock Lesnar – a man billed as nigh-on unstoppable machine.
Chuck in his accomplishments in MMA, and compare that to the 12 years of ring-rust the ageing 49-year-old Goldberg had to shake off, and you could be forgiven for thinking Goldberg was about to go the same way as Randy Orton and The Undertaker.
But oh no. Sure, wrestling is scripted, but that doesn’t mean it’s completely devoid of genuine moments of utter disbelief – and the looks on the faces of many of the fans in attendance was testament to that.
Goldberg squashed Lesnar inside two minutes, shattering the carefully-constructed illusion that Brock was an unbeatable monster incapable of being quelled by anyone.
After throwing Lesnar to the mat in the early stages, two spears and a jackhammer followed: the end result was a quick pinfall and a stunned silence.
It caused generated a huge amount of buzz on social media as fans watching at home struggled to come to terms with the unforeseen ending to the Survivor Series main event.

Some fans are upset WWE spent 3 years building up Lesnar, gave him Undertaker’s streak, only to lose to Goldberg in under 2 minutes

But this was one of the tweets that piqued a lot of fan interest:
Goldberg signed a deal to appear in the Royal Rumble after his match with Lesnar… This almost confirms we’re getting a rematch.

Apparently, according to sources within the WWE, it seems Goldberg, despite his twelve-year absence, has signed up to further matches in the future.
And with Goldberg now 2-0 over Lesnar, it has set them up for a perfect rematch. We can’t wait.
